McCARTAN founder, Colum McCartan, is an internationally renowned interior and product designer based in New York City. Born in Ireland and a graduate of the Belfast School of Art and Design, his work is regularly published in both industry and mainstream media.

After forming his first company in Ireland, focusing on design for restaurants, nightclubs and hotels he later moved to London to work with Sir Terence Conran on a diverse range of hospitality projects including cruise ships interiors.

In 1996 Colum moved to San Francisco and in keeping with the entrepreneurial spirit of the region formed his namesake company. Design for several boutique hotels followed and by 2002 he had established a foothold in New York City. This allowed him to build a unique profile for a design firm that thrives on inventing distinctive intriguing environments for the hospitality industry.

With a solid reputation for creative and innovative work Colum has become one of the most sought after designers in the world.
